Trust in God and Leave All for My Sake

This poem was written after I turned to and read Mark 10:26 while praying.  The part of the verse that truly stuck out to me was this: "Trust in God and leave all for my sake."

For Jesus' sake I left;
I trusted in my God.
And in that stormy cleft,
I held the righteous rod.

For Jesus' sake I followed,
For Jesus, I denied.
For Jesus I left all my life,
And for my soul He died.

For Jesus' sake I prayed,
And God has heard my prayer!
In my darkest hour,
My Master still was there.

For Jesus, I have sacrificed:
Sanctified I'd be,
For He has given every thing;
My Lord left all for me.

Beam of Light

I was surprised just now to find I haven't posted on here since October of last year!  Shame on me.  I hope to start anew.

Long I prayed for a beam of light
To come direct my way.
And long I felt that prayer in vain;
In sorrow, I ceased to pray.

But step by step, You're leading me;
I can't see far ahead.
But You still provide the orders;
By Your hand I am led.

And as the path is dark ahead,
Your Word, my Light to see
Oh, Master, only tell the step!
I'll follow close to Thee.

This was a prayer of sorts I wrote while contemplating what my future holds now that I'm in college.  The last verse is a sort of turning point for me -- just tell the next step, Lord, and I'll follow along.  I don't need to know all of it now.
